Steps to open bank account for your Labuan company

There is no law requiring every Labuan company to have bank account. A Labuan company intending to trade or receive fund may open bank accounts in Labuan, KL, or anywhere deemed suitable by the director. If you require corporate account to be opened for your Labuan company we can help to introduce you to a few banks in a few places. If you have your own preference over the choice of a bank please advise us.

Requirement to open bank account normally varies from one bank to another, but generally the following will be required by each bank;

i)   verification of identity documents like passport,

ii)   brief business profile,

iii)  proof of address and

iv)  specimen signatures, and

v)  and such other supporting documents that the bank may request

Our fee to open bank account is US$800.00 and this includes completion of all banking forms, resolutions and certification, accompanying you to see banker, submission and follow up after submission.

Take note that opening offshore bank account is rather cumbersome now. However whichever the bank you choose we will guide you throughout and let you know exactly what information and documents required.

Once a bank has been selected, the next step will be as follows;

①　We will e-mail banking forms or as the case may be, extra questionnaire, in order to get more 

information about nature  of business, mode of signing as well as your chosen currency.

②　Upon  receiving  your  reply,  we  will  prepare  final  documents to  be  printed 

and signed. For banks that require you to come to Malaysia, you can sign all these when you see us in Malaysia/Kuala Lumpur.

③　Whilst in Malaysia/Kuala Lumpur, we will accompany you to see bank officer so your 

passport and specimen signature can be verified.

If  a  bank  does  not  require  face  to  face  meeting, we  will  advise  you how you passport can be certified. Normally by a notary public. We will then courier or e- mail the banking forms for you to sign and send back to us.

④　When banking forms and documents are completed, we will submit to bank and normally the 

bank takes at least 14 days to approve. Some banks take longer than this.

⑤　Once approved, you will be given bank a/c details, to which you should wire your initial 

deposit.

⑥　Once initial deposit is given, your account is operative and the bank can work on 

approving and sending your internet access code, pin, debit card, etc. It takes at least 14 days to even 30 days to have online banking activated.

Corporate credit or debit cards: Some banks do offer either credit card or debit cards or both. If you require these services please talk to us and we can explain more about them.
